Questions to Ask Yourself

- Does your child become overwhelmed with the simplest of homework assignments?
- Have schoolmates stopped including your child in activities?
- Does your child have difficulty following two or three directions without reminders?
- Does frustration interfere with your child’s functioning?
- Are the meanings of jokes lost on your child?
- Is your child so literal that it is difficult to have a normal conversation with him?
- Is keeping a backpack, desk, and belongings organized impossible for you child?
- Are you unable to enjoy an outing with your child due to unexpected behavioral outbursts?
- Does anxiety prevent your child from fully enjoying everyday activities?
- Is your child bothered by tags in his shirt, seams in his socks, different textures in foods, noises?
- Does your child misinterpret what you tell her?
- Is it difficult for your child to follow the behavior expectations at school?
- Is it difficult for your child to hold on to the information you know she has learned?
